Title IV, Part A
Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants
Intended to help meet the goal of providing all students - regardless of zip code, race, ethnicity, religion, family income, sex (including gender identity), sexual orientation, disability, language status, gender, or migrant status - with a high-quality education.
Title IV is intended to help meet these goals by increasing the capacity of school districts, schools and communities to: 1) provide all students with access to well-rounded education, 2) improve school conditions for student learning, and 3) improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.
Title IV Requirements:
When planning activities...ensure equitable access to, and participation in, program activities for students, teachers and other program beneficiaries with special needs
Must be supplemental to state and local efforts
Requires stakeholder input
Planned activities must be tied to identified needs

Areas of focus:
There are three areas supported under Title IV, Part A, including
Well Rounded Educational Opportunities,
Safe and Healthy Students, and
Effective Use of Technology
Examples of Allowable Activities
Flexibility:
Where possible, districts are encouraged to coordinate and integrate Title IV with activities authorized by other sections of the ESSA law, as well as other federal programs to improve outcomes for students.
WISEgrant application:
The district is required to submit an application to the Department of Public Instruction through WISEgrants.
The WISEgrants screens for Title IV, Part-A are in development and are estimated to go live mid-October and likely to be due by the end-of-November.
Application support will be provided through the Title I Service for districts participating in the service.
